Maya Angelou Essay Example for Free
Maya Angelou Essay As a woman you are created with a special gift, itââ¬â¢s like little extra ingredients that all women have within them. The poem ââ¬Å"Phenomenal Womanâ⬠by Maya Angelou, she speaks about the elegance of a woman, her inner being the way she glow without saying a word Maya expressed how men are amazed by her presence ââ¬Å"men themselves have wondered what they see in meâ⬠(line 31-32). Itââ¬â¢s hard to put your finger on it all women were born with the power. In the poem ââ¬Å"Still I riseâ⬠by Maya Angelou she described the struggles of life trials and tribulations you face in society and the way people may judge you. As if she was writing about a woman ââ¬Å"does my sassiness upset you? â⬠She also wrote in another stanza ââ¬Å"does my sexiness upset you? â⬠She used this comparison to show she is a sexy woman who demands respect. Mayaââ¬â¢s attitude in this poem is portraying a confident black African American woman. She is really laughing at men challenging them. They cannot stop her from rising above all expectation. This poem gives you not only inspiration encouragement to be fearless; to the end of it all you must believe you still rise above it all. The title gives a sense of entity and power. This masterpiece the poem ââ¬Å"phenomenal womanâ⬠has also empowered women to get more in touch with their inner beauty. Maya describes in great detail the mystery of women and the behavior of men and their reaction. It shows women to not only love your-self but to embrace every aspect of your mind, body and soul. Maya show that sexuality isnââ¬â¢t only related to outer beauty, or by the way you dress it more about how you feel within your own skinà she shows you instead of hating your body love it from the crown of your head to the sole of your feet. In society today women enhances their body by doing plastic surgery to feel accepted. She feels inferior clearly stating that every part of a woman is beauty. In comparisons to ââ¬Å"Phenomenal Womanâ⬠and ââ¬Å"Still I Riseâ⬠both poems Maya speaks about not bowing to the ââ¬Å"oppressorâ⬠. You can feel her compassion in every word in Phenomenal Woman ââ¬Å"now you understand why my headââ¬â¢s not bowedâ⬠(lines 47). Still I Rise forth stanza ââ¬Å"with head bowed and eyes lowered?â⬠, Within these lines she stresses that she will not conform to what society made her out to be, that she will soar above and beyond everyone expectations. The little gives a sense of entity and power. In conclusion these two poems have few similarities; Maya characterized the strength of an African American woman. By using powerful words she described the emotional aspect of inner beauty, standing proud professing no one will ever bring her down not by the color of her skin nor the fact of being a woman that thereââ¬â¢s more within.

Organization :: Free Essay Writer
Organization Structure The United States Navy is an enormous organization spanning the entire globe. The chain of command covers everyone involved with the Navy from the President of United States all the way down to the eighteen-year old just checking into his first command. There are literally hundreds of different specialized jobs in the Navy all requiring different leadership styles and organization structures. Overall the entire United States Navy is based on a mechanistic organization with some variations throughout do to the wide variety of job fields. For instance my particular job field is one of the more technical fields in the Navy so we generally have some differences in organizational structure than that of the sailor painting the ship painted. I am currently working at the Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility (FACSFAC) located at Naval Air Station Jacksonville. FACSFAC as a whole is a mechanistic organization divided into two departments and several divisions providing basic functions ranging from things as complex as air traffic control to maintaining the cleanliness of the building. There is a Department Head over each department with several Division Officers reporting directly to them. The Department Head in turn reports directly to the commanding officer on all matters related to their individual departments. The air traffic control division is further divided into three sections of controllers that report directly to the Radar Branch Chief who reports to the Division Officer. Professionally the sections are managed in a boundary-less, team-based structure although militarily they are still run as a mechanistic organization. In some of the less technical divisions there is only a mechanistic organiz ation. Although the Navy does not have a formal organizational network, itsââ¬â¢ use of informal organizational networks are critical to itsââ¬â¢ success. Many times during a military career the member will make friendships with other members in the same job field. As time goes on and the members transfer from one facility to another they are able to call on one another for solutions to problems they may come across. With the rise of the Internet these networks are being used in situations that in the past would have been impossible. There are basically four major types of boundaries affecting businesses today, the authority boundary, task boundary, political boundary and the identity boundary.

PR and HER professional
How to evaluated and chose several selection devices such as interview or ability tests to reject or accept applicants. To evaluated and chose whether or not to utilize integrity testing and drug jesting. Introduction The human resources department will go through a number of steps of selection of candidates for the new office. There will be important process and procedure for recruitment and selection by the help of interviews and other techniques.In any business process the steps for formal selection and recruitment are based on the important motive. It ensures that the candidates are put in the right place for particular roles and responsibilities in an organization. Legal Aspects Here are the following laws legislation impacting the recruitment and election process that are to be taken care before a person can be recruited for the new facility.Equal Pay Act 1970 Sex Discrimination Act 1975 Race Relations Act 1976/Amendment Act 2000 Parental Leave Regulations 1 999 The Disability Discrimination Act 1 996, 2005, 2006 EX. Directive 1000/78/SEC on Equal Treatment in Employment Equal Act 2006 work and Families Act 2006 The general philosophy of equality legislation is that individuals are treated right and not judged on the basis of their external characteristics such as age, gender but on individual merit; that is the general rule and violation of it institutes discrimination.Equality legislation does not prevent selection on the basis of merit (Purcell, 2003). Preliminary screening This step will be carried out in three stages because the preliminary screening should only filter out the candidates who cannot become part of the company even after the required training and mentoring because they lack the basic aptitude level required to imbibe the functional expertise along with the organizational behavior of the company.These candidates whose career and personal goals are not in line with the organizational goals need to be laminated at this stage (Purcell, 200 3). Resume shortening The first step pertains to the resume shortening which will be done to see if the candidate has any inclination towards the products offerings of the company and is dynamic enough to become part of the company. It depends on the functional expertise and the job description whether the candidate fulfills the required prerequisites like education, extracurricular, professional courses etc.This stage is crucial as it will enlist the qualify set of the prospective candidates (sermon, 2007). Written test The next step is to conduct the written test which will be designed to test the candidate basic knowledge regarding the recent trends in the technological products. This will be aimed at eliminating the students who look good on paper but lack the practical knowledge about the industry. This stage would enlist the consideration set of candidates that are to be considered for the later stage.Group discussion This stage will aim at weeding out the candidates who do no t have group communication skills which is required for inter-functional interactions and negotiations. This company is a geographically diverse organization; the products are a result Of the massive inter-functional conflicts and resolutions. Any individual who become a part of the company should have the ability to put across his or her thoughts effectively and clearly to avoid confusions.This stage will make sure that the candidate can work in a dynamic work environment to go to the next stage because they will be able to manage the inter-personal conflicts arising out the difference in the expertise and functional aspects of an individual (Purcell, 2003). Group interview Candidates who go through group interview process will be pitted against each other to bring out the best in them and see how they perform in peer pressure situations.This will make them bring out all the knowledge which can be further used to judge if they have enough technical knowledge. This stage will bring out the best in an individual and make the recruiter understand the inner skills of the candidate and the ability to perform under extreme completive forces in and outside the company (Keeps and Delver, 2007). Persona interview This stage of the selection process is the most crucial as this will understand the innermost drives and ambitions of the candidate.This will determine if the candidate fits well with the goals of the organizational culture of the company. This stage is the most crucial of all stages as this will let the recruiter know the goals, aspirations, abilities and the manner that is not possible with any other methods. The interview should be both functional, which will judge the technical expertise required to carry out the roles and responsibilities of the candidate and HER interview will judge the overall resonantly of the candidates (Armstrong 2008). Functional The first personal intent. IEEE is aimed at understanding the technical knowledge in depth and cross qu estioning in order to make sure if the candidate is theoretically driven and understand the concepts as well. This round will be more rigorous for product development, logistics, operations, R and D less for sales and marketing, PR and HER professional. The interview should be unstructured in order to provide maximum control to the candidate because this is not an elimination round but a selection round. This will ensure that anxiety is reduced and the candidate performs at his or her best (Allen and White 2007).HER This round of interview will play a deciding role in the hiring of the candidate as it will decide further if the candidate fits well in the job description. This round can be considered as a formality for some candidate as they fit to the requirement of the company as judged in the previous rounds. It is essential to finally ask the perspective employees about their long term goals and short term goals and how they are going to fulfill them by working for the organizati on (Allen and White 2007). What Is Essay Generator
Have you ever wished there were some magical way to make essays write themselves? How much easier life would become if only there were something like this! If you have, then your dream has come true ââ¬â the Internet offers us a number of so-called essay generators which do precisely what it says on the tin ââ¬â they generate more or less legitimately looking essays based on your requirements. Of course, the humankind is still very far from creating a viable artificial intelligence (and nothing short of it is by definition capable of actually writing a meaningful piece of original text), which means that the quality of these essays leaves much to be desired. In fact, it is pretty hard to say what it the purpose of creating a piece of software like this ââ¬â they have no practical use, except for a bit of entertainment now and then. No matter how sad it is, the truth is ââ¬â it is not a very good idea to try submitting an essay created by such generator to your teacher or tutor unless you want to check if he or she actually reads anything before giving marks. Although these programs differ in complexity and quality of results, generally they may only pass for normal, meaningful text only if you donââ¬â¢t read but skim through it. If you pay any attention to the internal logic of the text, the absence of meaning becomes obvious almost immediately. Ironically, it is much more difficult to create a piece of software that would generate a high school-level essay that would make sense than a program to create complex pseudoscientific texts. There is, for example, such thing as SCIgen ââ¬â a program created by scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to generate scientifically-looking nonsense. One of its creations, Rooter: A Methodology for the Typical Unification of Access Points and Redundancy even managed to get through to the World Multiconference on Systemics, Cybernetics and Informatics despite making no slightest bit of sense. However, while pseudoscientific gibberish can confuse reader because he is likely to believe that he doesnââ¬â¢t understand anything due to his own limited knowledge, this trick, unfortunately, doesnââ¬â¢t work with high school and college level essays. They are not supposed to use a great deal of complex terminology and professional jargon, and when computer cannot resort to confusion, it becomes very easy to distinguish text written by a real person to nonsense generated by an essay generator. Thus, no matter what is written on the website of the latest essay generator you found, donââ¬â¢t try to pass it for your own work unless you are absolutely sure nobody is going to read it. It seems that students will have to write their own essays for a long, long time after you graduate from college and will be interested in automatically written texts no more ââ¬â so donââ¬â¢t try to look for anything of this kind now. However, essay generators may be a good source of amusement, especially the better-written ones. They serve as a very good illustration of the kind of writing students use when they canââ¬â¢t boast of a very good grasp of topic: they are rife with clichà ©s, repetitions, vague expressions, meaningless constructions ââ¬â in other words, anything that sounds confusing and misleading, anything that may be attributed to literally any topic. Sometimes one can read several paragraphs of this gibberish before finally understanding that what he deals with is not just a poorly written essay by a terminally bored student, but a text generated by a piece of program code. It is also a very good approach to evaluation of your own texts. If you feel that your essay may just as well has been written by a machine ââ¬â you are obviously doing something wrong.
